Forklift operation has been classed as high risk work since 1 September 2010. To undertake this work you need a Licence to Perform High Risk Work.

Forklift truck (Class LF) – covers the operation of a powered industrial truck equipped with a mast and an elevating load carriage to which is attached a pair of fork arms or other attachment.

On completion of the course you will be able to:

• Plan work
• Conduct routine checks
• Shift load
• Shut down and secure forklift truck

If successful you will receive a Statement of Attainment.

ALL LEARNERS WILL BE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE PHOTOGRAPHIC IDENTIFICATION UPON ARRIVING FOR THEIR COURSE.

• Entrants will need a level of language and literacy skills to enable them to meet the requirements of the course.
• The applicant must be able to use the English language at a level that is appropriate for the safe use and operation of the particular class of equipment. As an example, the applicant must be able to read and comprehend hazard warning signs, load charts, data plates and any other safe operating requirement. The applicant must be able to communicate this information to the registered assessor.
• All aspects of theory and practical assessments must be conducted in English. Interpreters must not be used during the assessment process.
• Learners need to be 18 years of age and over for licensing requirements.
• Learners will be required to have access to an email account, internet access and a computer to facilitate the online learning that is required to be done before attending the course.

• 2 day course – blended delivery and assessment of online learning and face to face.

• Public courses are scheduled frequently in Adelaide and regional SA.

• Civil Train Regency – 16-18 Tikalara Street, Regency Park

• Enclosed, safety footwear, long pants and long-sleeved shirts with hi-vis are required.  Other sites may have other requirements which will be confirmed at the time of booking.
• Failure to wear correct PPE may prevent the participant from completing the practical training and/or assessment.

• $900 ($700 if CITB approved)
• Cost of licence fee to SafeWork SA on successful completion is NOT included.
