For a boom-type EWP, where the boom length exceeds 11 metres, the operator must be licensed. It has been classed as high risk work since 1 September 2010. To undertake this work you need a Licence to Perform High Risk Work.
EWPs are powered mobile plant designed to lift or lower people and equipment to a work location, by means of a telescoping device or articulated device, beyond a base support.
This course is two (2) days.
ALL LEARNERS WILL BE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE PHOTOGRAPHIC IDENTIFICATION UPON ARRIVING FOR THEIR COURSE.
Entrants will need a level of language and literacy skills to enable them to meet the requirements of the course.
Civil Train recommends year 10 school completion or equivalent as a guide to the level required for short courses.
The applicant must be able to use the English language at a level that is appropriate for the safe use and operation of the particular class of equipment. As an example, the applicant must be able to read and comprehend hazard warning signs, load charts, data plates and any other safe operating requirement. The applicant must be able to communicate this information to the registered assessor.
All aspects of assessment must be conducted in English. Interpreters must not be used during the assessment process.
Learners need to be 18 years of age and over for licensing requirements of TLILIC0005 – Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more)
Learners will be sent a course workbook which must be read before attending the course.
This course is delivered and assessed face to face.
There are theory and practical training and assessment components to the course.
Public courses are scheduled frequently in Adelaide.
