Short Term Low Impact TTM Course

South Australia

Efficient, safe, and compliant - Temporary Traffic Management training for low-impact workers!

Course Overview

Short Term Low Impact (STLI) works refer to tasks carried out without accredited Traffic Management personnel, following simplified Traffic Guidance Schemes. These worksites are classified as STLI when a site-specific risk assessment confirms that their short duration and minimal impact allow them to proceed without a Static Worksite.

To determine if a worksite qualifies as STLI:

  • If the work involves major construction or deep excavation requiring hours or days to complete, a static worksite with barriers may be necessary (see AGTTM Part 3), meaning it is not STLI.
  • If the work is minor (e.g., pothole repairs, vegetation trimming) or involves quick tasks across multiple locations, a mobile worksite (see AGTTM Part 4) may be suitable, making it STLI-appropriate.

Course Outcomes

Upon completing the Short Term Low Impact (STLI) Works Training, participants will learn to apply Austroads standards for managing short-duration, low-impact works. They will gain skills in assessing risks and implementing simplified Traffic Guidance Schemes to ensure safe traffic flow for tasks like pothole repairs and survey work. The course covers the correct use of traffic control measures, ensuring compliance with industry and state regulations.

Successful participants receive a Certificate of Completion.
