Course Overview

The Utilities Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) Worker Accreditation course is intended for all workers directly or indirectly employed by a utility organisation that delivers essential services such as water, gas, electricity, and communications. Indirect employment includes companies dedicated to supporting these utility providers. Developed in collaboration with utility organisations, this non-accredited course addresses the specific needs of infield utility workers in applying restricted Temporary Traffic Management practices and designed for workers in the utilities sector who are required to set up short term low impact TTM on category 1 roads and less frequently on category 2 roads.

 

 

Course Outcomes

Upon completing the Utilities Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) Worker Accreditation course, participants will be able to apply restricted traffic management practices in line with the Austroads Guide to Temporary Traffic Management and industry safety regulations. They will develop skills to assess and implement temporary traffic control measures, ensuring the safe movement of vehicles, pedestrians, and workers in utility work environments. The course covers risk management, site-specific traffic control, and compliance with Austroads standards, legislative requirements, and WHS regulations.

Successful participants will receive a Certificate of Completion, confirming their accreditation as an infield Utilities TTM worker who . This does not qualify individuals to work as a Traffic Controller, Traffic Management Implementer, or Traffic Management Designer and a Utilities TTM Card, issued by the Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) South Australia.

 

    Course Duration

    This is a one (1) day non-accredited course from 8am – 4pm.

     

     

    Entry Requirements

    To be eligible for this course you must:

    • Be directly employed by Utilities company (i.e. SA Power Networks, SA Water, Australian Pipeline Authority (APA), or Service Stream)
    • Utilities workers with current WZTM cards – expired cards won’t be accepted.
    • Hold a valid Construction Industry White Card (CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry or equivalent)
    • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.

     

    Please present on the day:

    • Photo ID
    • Statement of Attainment for White Card
    • Utilities ID Card

    There is theory training and assessment components to the course.
