Work Zone Traffic Management Refresher (WZTM)

Northern Territory

Do you need to update your interstate WZTM card so you can work in NT, or are you approaching the three-year expiry of your NT WZTM and need a refresher?

Course Overview

Work Zone Traffic Management (WZTM) involves the management of traffic through, around and past roadwork sites whilst balancing the safety needs of both workers and road users such as drivers, cyclists and pedestrians.

The Motor Vehicle Registry (MVR) issues the NT Work Zone Traffic Management ID cards on behalf of the Department of Infrastructure.

Certification is for three years. After this period, candidates will be required to attend a refresher course to renew their certification for a further three years.

A bridging course is also required for people moving from other regulatory jurisdictions to enable them to be accredited in the NT.

This must then be presented to the Motor Vehicle Registry (MVR), who will issue the Work Zone Traffic Management Card for the Northern Territory. Additional fees may apply.
